At least six people were killed and 37 others hospitalized following a Ukrainian missile attack on the western Russian city of Bryansk on Tuesday night, local authorities reported.
Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed the casualties in a post on Telegram but did not provide details on specific sites targeted. “As a result of the terrorist missile attack, six civilians were killed and 37 were injured. All have been taken to the Bryansk Regional Hospital, where they are receiving medical care.”
Ukraine’s military claimed responsibility for the strike, saying it hit the Kremniy El microchip plant, one of Russia’s largest microelectronics manufacturers.
It released aerial footage purportedly showing the strike, claiming at least four large blasts caused significant damage. The attack reportedly employed British-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

According to Kyiv, the facility supplies components to the Russian Defense Ministry, including parts used in Pantsir and S-500 missile systems and Kalibr cruise missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the strike as “a completely justified response” to Russian attacks on Ukraine and called Kremniy El “a key Russian military factory.” He noted that the plant produced electronics used in weapons striking Ukrainian cities.
The strike comes amid near-daily Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion in 2022. Ukraine has increasingly carried out counterstrikes against Russian military infrastructure, including energy and defense facilities.
