Editorial Policy

The mission of SOFX Media is to provide information and connectivity of extreme relevance to practitioners of special operations and a global network of High Impact People in order to Defeat Evil and Avert Suffering. We are a news aggregation platform that curates and disseminates relevant news, articles, and analysis from reputable sources to our target audience, with a focus on Special Operations-centric and General interest news that is both valuable and sometimes difficult and time-consuming to find. The network’s focus is on empowering, provisioning, and connecting a global network of superheroes for life. Superheroes need to be informed about what the public is saying and thinking about them. We must celebrate our victories as a global force of good in a scalable way…so we can see and share the effects of what we do. One simple example is being able to see how a host nation soldier we trained years earlier is now fully mission capable to fight their own counter-terror battles years after leaving their country. We also need to know when the public thinks our shining armor is rusty. Then we can self-correct.

In pursuit of this mission, we will adhere to the following principles:

  • Relevance: We will ensure that all content is highly relevant and useful to our audience of special operations practitioners and High Impact People.

  • Quality: We will only publish high-quality, well-researched content that is factually accurate and written in a clear, concise style, and that is obtained from reputable sources.

  • Objectivity: We will strive to present a balanced, unbiased perspective on all issues and will avoid sensationalism or promoting any specific agenda. We will stay as non-partisan as possible.

  • Security: We will take all necessary precautions to ensure that sensitive information is protected and not shared with unauthorized parties.

  • Connectivity: We will foster a sense of community and connectivity among our readers by encouraging dialogue and engagement through social media and other online platforms.

  • Ethical Standards: We will maintain strict adherence to journalistic standards of integrity, accuracy and fairness, and will not publish content that is defamatory, discriminatory, or intended to incite violence or hatred.

  • Transparency: We will be transparent about our funding sources, editorial process, and any potential conflicts of interest, and we will clearly identify the source of all curated content.

  • Screening: We will serve our readership by screening out overtly false “fake news” or overly political content, ensuring that our article selection is politically balanced and as close to neutral as possible without deteriorating the quality and essential parts of the story.

By adhering to these principles, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to the fight against evil and the prevention of suffering and to provide our readers with a comprehensive and reliable source of information.  As we have a limited capacity with one part-time senior editor, one full-time assistant editor, a full-time graphics technician, and a copywriting intern, we strive to ensure that our output is as thorough and accurate as possible within our limited resources.
