Two American aid workers were injured on Saturday in a grenade attack at a food distribution center in Khan Younis, operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a U.S.- and Israeli-supported relief organization.
The GHF said the Americans, both military veterans, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and had received medical treatment.
These are fragments of a grenade packed with ball bearings, two of which were thrown by Hamas at American aid workers delivering food in Gaza.
The men who threw them then ran into a crowd of civilians.
This is what those trying to feed civilians now face.

According to GHF, the assailants threw two grenades packed with ball bearings before escaping into a crowd. GHF Executive Chairman Rev. Johnnie Moore said the grenades were identified as being of Iranian origin and have been “commonly used by Hamas.”
“I am sorry to say also that today’s terror attack on Americans is partly a byproduct of the legitimacy that many in the press and at the [U.N.] provide to Hamas — amplifying Hamas’s lies about GHF every day, but also actively collaborating with Hamas,” Moore wrote on X.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) International Spokesperson Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani, who confirmed the attack, said Hamas and other terrorist groups in Gaza “continue efforts to sabotage and fail the distribution of humanitarian aid at the distribution sites and on the way to them.”
U.S. State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce condemned the violence, saying: “This act of violence against the people actually bringing relief to Gazans lays bare the depravity of Hamas.” She added: “We are praying for the rapid recovery of the injured Americans.”
Hamas has not commented on the incident.
The attack came one week after GHF revealed Hamas had placed bounties on its workers, offering rewards for killing or injuring them.
Despite the attack, GHF continued its operations. As of Sunday, the group reported having delivered 63 million meals since starting aid distribution in May.
GHF again distributed food aid directly to the Palestinian people in Gaza today following yesterday’s terrorist attack by Hamas.
We have now distributed more than 63 million meals.https://t.co/dG8PH4KgqL
