Iranian officials called on young people to form human chains around the country’s power plants amid fears of potential U.S. strikes if Tehran does not agree to a ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz by 8 p.m. Tuesday.
In a video message on Tuesday, Alireza Rahimi, identified by Iranian state television as the secretary of the Supreme Council of Youth and Adolescents, urged the youth to gather on Tuesday at 2 p.m. “around the power plants that are our national assets and capital, regardless of any taste or political viewpoint, [that] belong to the future of Iran and to the Iranian youth.”
HORRIFYING: The Islamic Regime in Iran is forcing children to form human chains around bridges and power plants in an attempt to dissuade President Trump’s strikes at 8PM.

The initiative, titled “Iran’s Youth Human Chain for a Bright Future,” is intended to show national solidarity and support for the country’s defense efforts. Rahimi said it also aimed to protest what he described as “war crimes” by the United States and Israel.
As part of the initiative, a Revolutionary Guard general urged parents to send their children to man checkpoints repeatedly targeted in airstrikes.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on X that 14 million people had volunteered to fight for their country. “I too have been, am, and will remain ready to give my life for Iran,” he wrote on X.
More than 14 million proud Iranians have so far registered to sacrifice their lives to defend Iran. I too have been, am, and will remain devoted to giving my life for Iran. https://t.co/B9GBHAAEMu

The human-chain initiative was called for as a wave of strikes by U.S. and Israeli forces hit Iran on Tuesday.

Just two hours before his 8 p.m. deadline, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran, temporarily halting the threat of additional strikes on Iranian infrastructure. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed Tehran’s acceptance, saying, “If attacks against Iran are halted, our powerful armed forces will cease their defensive operations.”
