The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck eight railway bridges and road sections across Iran on April 7, 2026, targeting infrastructure the military said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) used to transport weapons, military equipment, and mobile missile launchers.

The IDF confirmed the strikes hit locations across Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, Kashan, and Qom. Before the operation, the military issued a public warning for Iranians to avoid train travel for the day.

⭕️ شهروندان گرامی، به منظور امنیت شما، خواهشمندیم از این لحظه تا ساعت ۲۱:۰۰ به وقت ایران، از استفاده و سفر با قطار در سراسر ایران خودداری نمایید.

“The crossings were struck to prevent regime forces from using them to transport equipment and weapons,” the IDF said in a statement. “Prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the operation and said the targeted rail network had been used by the IRGC to move missile launchers between locations to avoid detection by Israeli and American forces.

“We are targeting the railways and bridges used by the Revolutionary Guards,” Netanyahu said. “They use them to transport raw materials for weapons, weapons, and the operatives who attack us, the US, and also the countries of the region.”

“The Iranian terror regime’s Armed Forces used the bridges to transport weapons and military equipment, and carry out terror attacks against the State of Israel and other countries in the Middle East,” the IDF said.

Also on Tuesday, the IDF struck a facility in Shiraz it identified as Iran’s primary production site for sonar systems supplied to the Iranian navy’s submarine fleet, the military announced.

Netanyahu said strikes on Iran are continuing with increased intensity.
