Iran launched drone and missile attacks targeting Bahrain and Kuwait following new U.S. airstrikes against the Islamic Republic. The latest exchange marks another escalation in the week-old ceasefire agreement, with both sides accusing each other of violating its terms.
Iran confirmed it launched ballistic missiles and drones targeting infrastructure linked to U.S. forces in Bahrain and Kuwait, including Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters at Port Salman in Bahrain.
Tehran also threatened a “complete halt” to negotiations aimed at ending the war if Washington continues its attacks.
A U.S. official told CBS News that no Iranian drones or missiles reached U.S. assets in Bahrain or Kuwait, with several intercepted before impact. The official added that there were no U.S. casualties.
Bahrain condemned the attacks, saying they violated its sovereignty and undermined “opportunities for de-escalation and stability in the region,” while Kuwait called the “repeated heinous Iranian aggressions” a “flagrant violation of its sovereignty.”
The attacks followed another round of U.S. strikes ordered by President Donald Trump that targeted 10 Iranian military sites in and near the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. Central Command said the strikes were launched after Tehran violated the ceasefire by attacking commercial shipping in the strategic waterway.

President Donald Trump said the targets included Iranian missile, drone storage facilities, as well as coastal radar sites.
“It is very possible that they will never learn! There may come a point when we are no longer able to be reasonable, and will be forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started. If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!” Trump said.

The latest escalation comes amid a dispute over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. On Saturday, a multinational maritime organization overseen by the U.S. Navy announced it would expand a shipping route near Oman for inbound and outbound traffic.
Iran opposes efforts to restore commercial shipping through the strategic waterway without its direct oversight.
“Any attempt to establish new or separate arrangements from those currently being carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran will only lead to further complications, delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and increase the level of tension,” Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Sunday.
Pakistan, which has been mediating between Washington and Tehran, said negotiations are expected to resume Tuesday on the terms of their interim agreement. The Trump administration said Sunday that no talks had been canceled and that technical discussions remain on schedule in the coming days.

I believe any “negotiations” with these people is just folly and a waste of time. They will never comply, they will remain belligerent, defiant, and even though we pummeled them, they seem to have some competence & ability to launch more missiles. This will never change until we force regime change. We have spent tons of money, ordnance, aircraft, and most importantly LIVES of our young people – I think we need to shock & awe them into total submission once and for all and get it behind us. We also need to make them pay for it – they get to pay for the expense of this operation through frozen assets or oil.
