The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) struck Hamas “terrorist targets” across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday after suspected Hamas gunmen opened fire near its troops in Khan Younis, violating the five-week-old ceasefire.

The Hamas-run health ministry reported at least 25 Palestinians killed in the strikes, including 10 in Zeitoun. No Israeli soldiers were injured in the incident.
According to The Jerusalem Post, the IDF targeted a senior Hamas figure in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, though it remains unclear if the individual was killed. The IDF said troops in the southern command remain deployed to address imminent threats.
The IDF also announced on Wednesday that it eliminated three Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon.

One, involved in efforts to reestablish Hezbollah’s readiness in the area, was killed in the At Tiri area. Another, taking part in reestablishment activities for the group, was eliminated in the Bint Jbeil area, while a third, observed gathering intelligence on IDF troops, was killed in the Blida area.
The IDF also launched a wave of airstrikes against Hezbollah weapons depots in southern Lebanon.

The IDF said the arms caches were placed in “the heart of a civilian population,” calling it “another example of the cynical use by the Hezbollah terror organization of Lebanese civilians as human shields.”
