Hezbollah Launches Rocket Barrage on IDF Base Near Israeli Airport

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that several rockets launched by Hezbollah on Wednesday reached the Tel Aviv area, while one struck near Ben Gurion Airport. Throughout the day, the rocket attacks led to civilian alerts across Israel, causing disruptions in air travel and damage to property, though Ben Gurion Airport remained operational for arrivals and departures.

While Americans celebrate, Hezbollah fired a massive barrage of missiles at central Israel including at Ben Gurion Airport.

One rocket landed in the vicinity of Israel’s Tzrifin military base, located south of the airport. The Tzrifin base, which houses multiple IDF units and logistics facilities, was reportedly one of Hezbollah’s intended targets. In northern Israel, an 18-year-old resident of Kibbutz Kfar Masaryk near Acre was killed after a rocket exploded in an agricultural area. The teenager, who had been working in the fields, was found with fatal shrapnel injuries hours after the attack.

In response, the IDF launched airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Beirut, where Hezbollah reportedly operates command centers, weapons depots, and other infrastructure. According to the IDF, Hezbollah frequently uses civilian areas to conceal its military assets, and evacuation warnings were issued to residents in advance of the strikes.

The IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Col. Avichay Adraee, called on residents near four Hezbollah-linked sites in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh region to evacuate at least 500 meters from the targeted buildings ahead of the airstrikes.

Israel’s Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi confirmed that the IDF is preparing to expand its ground operations in southern Lebanon in response to continued Hezbollah attacks. Speaking at a military briefing, Halevi emphasized the need to deepen the offensive in Lebanon to secure Israel’s northern borders, where over 60,000 residents remain displaced following repeated cross-border attacks since early October.
