During a nocturnal surveillance operation, operators from the 8th Separate Special Forces Brigade employed a reconnaissance drone with thermal imaging to identify a five-person enemy group. The Ukrainian soldiers engaged the group with mortar fire, resulting in the death of three Russian servicemen and the wounding of two others. This action is a part of a broader defensive effort by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, who have, as of January 15, reportedly eliminated approximately 370,980 Russian invaders.
