The Bayraktar TB3 unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV), developed by Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar Technologies, achieved a major milestone in its development by successfully completing its first bombing mission using precision-guided munitions.
The successful test, announced by Baykar, was reported to have been conducted on January 18. The Bayraktar TB3 departed from the Baykar Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, Edirne, carrying two Roketsan MAM-T precision-guided munitions.
Utilizing Aselsan’s ASELFLIR-500 electro-optical reconnaissance and targeting system, the drone successfully struck its designated target with pinpoint accuracy, according to Baykar.

The company announced that the TB3 will continue its payload and munitions integration tests in accordance with its development timeline.
The Bayraktar TB3 has made rapid progress since its unveiling, achieving several key milestones, including its ability to operate from Turkey’s TCG Anadolu, an amphibious assault ship. In November 2024, the TB3 became the first UCAV to take off and land on a short runway vessel equipped with a 12-degree ramp.
The TB3’s development follows the progress of Baykar’s Kızılelma, an advanced unmanned fighter jet prototype.
