Defense company Tiberius Aerospace, operating in both the United States (U.S.) and the United Kingdom (U.K.), unveiled a new supersonic artillery shell capable of striking targets up to 150 kilometers (km) away at the Future Artillery Conference in London earlier this week.
In a press release, the company said the new 155mm ramjet extended-range precision-guided ballistic munition, called the Sceptre TRBM 155HG, can reach speeds of Mach 3.5 (about 2,700 mph) and flies as high as 65,000 feet.

It offers an extended range of up to 150 km, depending on the payload (maximum 5.2 kg), and delivers superior targeting precision with a circular error probable (CEP) of less than 5 meters.
Standard 155mm shells typically have ranges under 100 km and lower accuracy, with a CEP often exceeding 100 meters.
The new shell also includes AI guidance, GPS, and real-time error correction, allowing it to stay on target even if GPS is jammed.
“Sceptre delivers superior precision and dramatically improves the cost-effectiveness of all howitzer-class artillery,” the company said.
According to Tiberius Aerospace, Sceptre TRBM 155HG is compatible with NATO-standard 155mm artillery platforms like M777, PzH 2000, and AS90.
The unveiling comes as the U.K. also announced progress on a new hypersonic missile engine, tested 233 times in partnership with the U.S. The goal is to field a working hypersonic system by 2030.
U.K. Defence Secretary John Healey said that the country must keep innovating. “It has never been more important for us to stay ahead of our adversaries,” he said.
