Cold water exposure, such as through ice baths, has been shown by neuroscientists to provide a significant dopamine boost that is both stronger and lasts 15 times longer than cocaine. This natural method of elevating mood is healthier and does not lead to the quick crash associated with drug use. Wim Hof and Liam Royce have promoted the benefits of cold water immersion, aligning with neuroscientist TJ Power’s findings.

Key Points:

  1. Neuroscientist TJ Power highlights that cold water immersion can cause a dopamine spike that’s two and a half times the regular level, similar to the potency of cocaine.
  2. Unlike cocaine, which peaks in dopamine levels around nine minutes after consumption and crashes quickly, cold water’s dopamine increase is more gradual, lasting over two and a half hours.
  3. The gradual dopamine spike from cold water immersion doesn’t result in the negative crash that narcotics like cocaine cause, making it a healthier alternative for mood elevation.
  4. Liam Royce shared videos of cold water immersion experiences, garnering support and agreement in the comments section about its mood-boosting effects.
  5. Cold water immersion is becoming a popular alternative to narcotics, with many people choosing it over drugs for a natural dopamine fix without the negative comedown.
