Ukrainian defense company SkyFall unveiled the P1-SUN Long at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris on June 17.
The interceptor drone is equipped with an artificial intelligence (AI) terminal guidance module that independently detects, captures, and tracks Russian Shahed-type attack drones, allowing a human operator to confirm and execute the final engagement.

The P1-SUN Long’s AI guidance module runs on standard central processing units (CPUs) rather than the graphics processing units (GPUs) most AI systems require, SkyFall said. The CPU-based design allows production to scale even as worldwide shortages of specialized GPU hardware constrain competing programs, the company added.
Depending on the optical configuration, the AI module locks onto aerial targets at distances of up to half a mile. The drone reaches speeds exceeding 193 mph, carries an 800-gram warhead, has a service ceiling of approximately 5.6 miles, and a maximum range of roughly 20.5 miles.
SkyFall’s internal R&D team trained the machine vision model using more than 10,000 videos of actual combat interceptions and synthetic emulation data replicating enemy drone signatures. “The AI model enables the interceptor to detect and capture enemy targets faster than the human eye,” company representatives noted at Eurosatory.
The platform supports remote software updates, allowing crews to deploy new neural network models in the field without returning the drone to the manufacturer.
The company said the P1-SUN Long has completed combat testing, is deployed on front lines, and has recorded dozens of confirmed Shahed interceptions. The broader P1-SUN family has downed more than 3,500 Shaheds over six months, the company told Ukrinform on June 8.
