Two high-ranking Hezbollah officials were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Markaba, a village in southern Lebanon, early Friday morning. The strike, which targeted Hezbollah’s regional headquarters, was reported by Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya and confirmed by multiple sources, including the IDF and Hezbollah-affiliated media.
The Qatari news channel Alaraby reported that the strikes specifically targeted Hezbollah’s regional headquarters in Markaba. This was corroborated by the Lebanese site Al Manar, which is affiliated with Hezbollah. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) later confirmed that they had identified a number of terrorists entering a Hezbollah military structure in Markaba and subsequently struck the building.
Additionally, the IDF confirmed conducting strikes against another Hezbollah military structure in Ayta ash Shab.
In the past week alone, several Hezbollah commanders have been killed by Israeli Air Force (IAF) strikes. Notably, senior Hezbollah Radwan force commander Ali Jaafar Maatuk was killed in an IAF strike in southern Lebanon last Thursday. This attack also resulted in the deaths of several lower-ranking Hezbollah operatives.
