Newly released satellite images show a Russian cargo ship, suspected of transporting Iranian ballistic missiles, docked at Port Olya in southwestern Russia last week. The vessel, identified as Port Olya-3, has been linked to transporting missiles from Iran to Russia across the Caspian Sea.

The U.S. Treasury Department confirmed that Russia has received short-range ballistic missiles from Iran, which are expected to be used against Ukraine in the coming weeks. These missiles, known as Fath-360, have a range of 75 miles and can carry a 330-pound warhead.

The delivery was made using the Port Olya-3, which regularly transports cargo between Iran and Russia. In late August, the ship was tracked at the Iranian port of Amirabad before arriving at Port Olya on September 4. The U.S. has imposed sanctions on the vessel as part of broader measures targeting Iran for its military support to Russia.

Western nations, including the U.S., Britain, France, and Germany, have condemned the missile transfers as a dangerous escalation. The British government summoned Iran’s top diplomat in London in response, calling the weapons deal a direct threat to European security. The Biden administration has also expressed concern over growing military cooperation between Russia and Iran, warning that this partnership could further destabilize the region.

The Fath-360 missiles are the latest addition to Russia’s growing reliance on foreign military assistance, following shipments of drones from Iran and artillery from North Korea.
