The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that all 11 Iranian naval vessels in the Gulf of Oman have been destroyed during the ongoing U.S.–Israeli military operation against Iran, effectively eliminating Iran’s fleet presence in the waterway.
“Two days ago, the Iranian regime had 11 ships in the Gulf of Oman. Today, they have none,” CENTCOM said in a post on X.

Targets hit in the operation included a Jamaran-class corvette at Chah Bahar and the drone carrier IRIS Shahid Bagheri.

“The Iranian regime’s false messaging machine continues to falsely claim that it has sunk a U.S. aircraft carrier. The Truth: The only carrier that has been hit is the Shahid Bagheri, an Iranian drone carrier,” CENTCOM said in a post on Facebook on Monday.
“U.S. forces hit the ship within hours of launching Operation Epic Fury,” CENTCOM added, referring to the U.S.–Israeli campaign against Iran.
The IRIS Shahid Bagheri began life as the commercial containership Perarin before being converted between 2022 and 2024 into a sea-based drone platform. The vessel was purpose-built to launch drones and helicopters.

So far, the reported U.S. strike on the Iranian vessel Shahid Bagheri has not been independently verified. If confirmed, it would be one of the first high-profile naval engagements in the Operation Epic Fury. The operation, now on its third day, has already heightened tensions across the Persian Gulf and disrupted commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
