The Israeli military said Sunday that it had uncovered multiple weapons caches during an overnight operation in southern Syria.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), troops from the 226th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade and field interrogators from the Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 carried out coordinated raids at four sites in the Druze town of Hader, near the Israeli-Syrian border.

“Our troops entered four locations simultaneously and located numerous trafficked weapons after on-site questioning of several suspects in the Hader area,” the IDF said in a statement.

According to the IDF, the operation was based on prior intelligence surveillance and in-depth field investigation.

No Israeli casualties were reported. The military did not disclose whether any suspects were detained. Footage of the raid, as well as photos showing the seized weapons, were later shared on social media.

The IDF said that forces from Division 210 remain deployed in the area “to prevent the establishment of terrorist elements in Syria.”

Since the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024, Israel has stepped up operations in southern Syria, launching raids up to 15 kilometers inside the country to disrupt smuggling routes and prevent militant entrenchment.

In July, Israeli airstrikes hit regime positions in Sweida and reportedly targeted Syria’s Defense Ministry and parts of the Presidential Palace in Damascus.

“The IDF is operating in the area of separation and in key positions in Syria to ensure the security of the State of Israel and its citizens,” the military told JNS.
