Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) troops in southern Lebanon have reportedly discovered a Hezbollah training facility just 200 meters from a UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) outpost, the IDF reported on Friday. The discovery was made during a raid conducted by the 9th Reserve Brigade, part of IDF operations aimed at locating and dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure near the Lebanese-Israeli border. According to IDF statements, the facility was used by Hezbollah to train fighters, conduct tactical studies, and store large quantities of weapons.

During the raid, IDF forces reportedly seized a range of materials from the facility, including Hezbollah training documents, maps of Israeli territory, and guides on IDF vehicle identification and equipment. Additionally, troops located tunnel shafts and weaponry, including rocket launchers positioned for potential attacks on Israeli communities.

UNIFIL issued a statement condemning the incursion, claiming “two IDF excavators and one IDF bulldozer destroyed part of a fence and a concrete structure in a UNIFIL position in Ras Naqoura.” UNIFIL stated that they had lodged an urgent protest with the IDF, which reportedly denied conducting any activity inside the UN position.
