Hezbollah fired approximately 75 rockets from Lebanon into northern Israel on Tuesday, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). While some of the rockets were intercepted, others landed in open areas, causing no reported casualties.
The rocket attacks followed an Israeli airstrike on Monday evening targeting a Hezbollah weapons depot in Lebanon’s eastern Bekaa Valley. The strike injured eight people, including six Lebanese citizens and two Syrian children, according to Lebanon’s health ministry, but did not result in any fatalities.

In response to the rocket barrage, the IDF conducted further strikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, focusing on rocket launchers and military assets. Despite diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation, such as those led by U.S. envoy Amos Hochstein, hostilities continue.
Since the conflict reignited, exchanges of fire have resulted in casualties on both sides. Israel has reported 19 soldier deaths and 26 civilian casualties, while Hezbollah has acknowledged the loss of 415 fighters, along with additional casualties among other militant groups and civilians in Lebanon.
Diplomatic efforts to prevent a broader war face ongoing challenges. Hezbollah and its ally Iran have vowed retaliation for recent assassinations of key figures, including Hezbollah’s military chief Fuad Shukr in Beirut and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, further fueling tensions.
Despite ongoing ceasefire negotiations in Doha aimed at addressing the situation in Gaza, Hezbollah has stated that its actions are independent of the Gaza conflict and will continue regardless of the outcome of those talks.Â
