For two days, Russian forces have launched almost non stop drone attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian areas, causing damage and igniting fires. The attacks, which began early Saturday, involved waves of drones approaching from multiple directions and flying at low altitudes to evade defenses.
Kyiv’s military administration reported widespread damage to buildings, roads, and power lines due to falling debris from downed drones. Ukraine’s air force intercepted 39 of the 71 drones launched by Russia, but fragments still struck six Kyiv districts, damaging apartment buildings, cars, and infrastructure. Fires ignited in several areas, including Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, though most were quickly controlled. One police officer and an 82-year-old woman suffered injuries.

In addition to Kyiv, the attacks impacted other regions, including Odesa, Sumy, and Poltava. In the southern Kherson area, Russian shelling damaged a hospital, injured civilians, and killed a woman. Responding to the strikes, President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the “constant terrorist attacks” on Ukrainian cities, calling for increased international pressure on Russia.
