Chemlights, versatile lightsticks used extensively by the US military, serve as crucial tools for marking, signaling, and providing illumination in low-light conditions. Manufactured by Cyalume Technologies, these lightsticks can be easily activated by a “bend and shake” technique, resulting in a chemically induced glow. Chemlights are especially valued for their adaptability, aiding in military exercises, tactical operations, search and rescue operations, and even covert missions using infrared illumination visible only through night vision goggles.

Key Points:

  1. Chemlights are versatile lightsticks used by the US military for marking specific locations, signaling, highlighting potential hazards, and providing illumination in low-light scenarios.
  2. They are easy to activate, durable, waterproof, and user-friendly, making them an essential tool in various military situations including training, search and rescue operations, and battlefield scenarios.
  3. The tactical lights are portable and have an adhesive side that allows them to be easily attached to various surfaces for marking and identification purposes.
  4. Cyalume Technologies, the company behind Chemlight Tactical Light, offers a range of products available in various sizes, glow times, and visible and infrared colors.
  5. Infrared lighting, only visible through night vision goggles, is critical in strategic operations and Cyalume’s IR product range caters to this need, providing discrete identification solutions.
