A series of videos emerging from Iraq over the past several days captures what it looks like, and sounds like, to be on the ground during a U.S. Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II strafing run. The footage, posted across multiple social media accounts, shows Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) fighters filming themselves fleeing in open panic as the aircraft makes repeated passes directly overhead.

The A-10C’s main gun, the GAU-8/A Avenger, is a seven-barrel 30-millimeter rotary cannon capable of firing approximately 3,900 rounds per minute. Its signature low-frequency burst is clearly audible in the clips. In one video posted to X, the burst lasts several seconds longer than a typical firing sequence.

Additional footage attributed to more recent operations shows the same aircraft type conducting runs over PMF positions in Anbar Province.

The videos coincide with confirmed strike activity. Three airstrikes hit two PMF sites in Nineveh province early Sunday, targeting the headquarters of the 14th Brigade under the Nineveh Operations Command in the ar-Rashidiya area, north of Mosul, and a position linked to the 4th Regiment of the same brigade.
A security source told Shafaq News the attacks caused no human casualties and were limited to material damage.

The strikes fall under Operation Epic Fury, the U.S. military campaign launched February 28 targeting Iranian-backed armed groups across Iraq and the wider region. CENTCOM had not acknowledged the March 29 strikes at the time of publication.
