Footage circulating on social media shows the moment a Hezbollah explosive-laden drone struck near Israeli forces conducting an evacuation of wounded soldiers in southern Lebanon on Sunday.
The attack took place in the southern Lebanese town of Taybeh, inside an Israeli-declared security zone.
Earlier in the day, a tank from the 77th Battalion became immobilized during operations in the town. As troops worked to repair the vehicle, a Hezbollah explosive-laden drone struck nearby, killing Sgt. Idan Fooks and wounding six other soldiers, including four seriously.
An Israeli Air Force helicopter was later dispatched to transport the wounded to a hospital. During the evacuation effort, Hezbollah launched two additional explosive-laden drones at the forces.
One drone was intercepted by soldiers, while the second struck near the troops and the helicopter without causing additional injuries, according to an Israeli investigation.

The incident comes amid continued cross-border fire between Israel and Hezbollah despite a ceasefire that began April 16, with the Israeli military accusing Hezbollah of repeated violations since it took effect.

Earlier in the weekend, projectiles reportedly fired from Lebanon triggered sirens in several northern Israeli communities. One was intercepted while another landed in an open area without injuries, according to the military.
⭕️ Sirens sounded in the areas of Manara, Margaliot, and Misgav Am, after 2 projectiles were launched from Lebanon toward Israel.
This constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire understandings by Hezbollah.
