Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced an agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump for the sale of Ukrainian-made drones to the United States.
Zelensky estimated the potential contract to be worth between $10 billion and $30 billion.
“With America, with President Trump — we agreed that they will buy drones from us. There is such an agreement,” Interfax-Ukraine quoted Zelenskyy as saying.
Zelenskyy said he had already instructed senior officials to finalize the contract.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters on Friday, Zelenskyy said Kyiv is also holding talks with several European countries to establish overseas production lines for Ukrainian-made weapons.
He noted that a deal has already been reached with Denmark, which will finance drone production during wartime through a 50/50 partnership with Ukraine’s private sector.
News of the potential drone deal comes after Zelenskyy announced a “win-win” arrangement, under which Washington would purchase Ukrainian-made drones in exchange for Kyiv acquiring U.S. weapons.
On Thursday, the Pentagon announced that the U.S. State Department had approved two potential military sales to Ukraine totaling $330 million.
The package includes approximately $150 million for maintenance, repair, and overhaul support of M109 self-propelled howitzers, along with $180 million for air defense sustainment, according to a statement from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
