The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced late Saturday that American and Jordanian forces launched a major wave of airstrikes across Syria under “Operation Hawkeye Strike,” hitting more than 35 ISIS targets.
CENTCOM spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins told NBC News that Saturday’s operation saw more than 20 aircraft, including F-15E Strike Eagles, A-10 Warthogs, AC-130J gunships, MQ-9 Reapers, and Jordanian F-16s, deliver a total of 90 precision munitions.

“The strikes today targeted ISIS throughout Syria as part of our ongoing commitment to root out Islamic terrorism against our warfighters, prevent future attacks, and protect American and partner forces in the region,” CENTCOM said in a statement.
“U.S. and coalition forces remain resolute in pursuing terrorists who seek to harm the United States. Our message remains strong: if you harm our warfighters, we will find you and kill you anywhere in the world, no matter how hard you try to evade justice,” it added.
War Secretary Pete Hegseth commented about the operation on X: “We will never forget, and never relent.”

The recent operations followed earlier U.S. strikes on 70 ISIS sites across central Syria, launched after President Donald Trump vowed “very serious retaliation” for the Dec. 13 ISIS attack on U.S. forces that killed two Iowa National Guard soldiers.
Nearly 25 ISIS operatives were killed or captured in U.S. operations conducted between Dec. 20 and 29, according to CENTCOM.
