U.S. and Israeli forces struck an ammunition depot in Iran’s central city of Isfahan early Tuesday, using 2,000-pound bunker-buster bombs, The Wall Street Journal reported.
U.S. President Donald Trump shared video footage on his Truth Social platform showing massive explosions and fireballs lighting up the night sky. The clip could not be independently verified.

Isfahan is a strategic hub housing Iran’s military bases and defense industry. It is also home to one of three uranium enrichment sites previously hit by the U.S. during the 12-day Iran-Israel conflict in June 2025.
According to U.S. officials cited by WSJ, “a high volume of bunker busters, or penetrator munitions, was used for the strike” to destroy missiles, rockets, and other explosives stored at the site.
Observers said the initial explosion set off a series of secondary blasts, suggesting the presence of stored ammunition or other explosives at the site.

Recent intelligence reports indicate that Iran may have transferred a large portion of its highly enriched uranium stockpile, a key raw material that can be used to produce a nuclear weapon, to underground facilities in Isfahan. The amount is estimated at roughly 1,190 pounds (540 kilograms), though these figures have not been independently verified.
Analysts said the possible presence of such materials could explain the use of heavy, bunker-penetrating bombs.
Satellite imagery suggests Iran may have moved up to 540 kg of highly enriched uranium to an underground tunnel complex in Isfahan just days before Israeli and US airstrikes in June 2025.

Iranian authorities have not acknowledged the recent attack.
The attack came a day after Trump threatened widespread destruction of Iran’s energy resources and other vital infrastructure, including power plants, oil wells and key sites such as Kharg Island, if Tehran did not agree to a deal to end the war “shortly.”
