Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) successfully destroyed a Russian pontoon bridge unit in the Kursk region, foiling an attempt to construct a crossing over the Seim River. The SOF’s 8th Regiment identified the convoy, consisting of seven enemy vehicles, including five PPS-84 pontoon bridges mounted on KrAZ-255 truck chassis, and two other trucks. After detecting the convoy, Ukrainian forces hit the vehicles with artillery fire and later used FPV drones to locate and destroy the abandoned equipment.

The Russian unit, involved in constructing a pontoon crossing near the village of Zvane, was forced to abandon the operation due to the timely intervention by Ukrainian forces. Geolocated footage of the destruction was released by the Ukrainian SOF, showing the convoy’s position two kilometers from the damaged river crossing. This attack marks another successful operation by Ukraine’s Requiem Group, which has targeted Russian engineering equipment in the region throughout August, including the destruction of a PP-91M vehicle and an EOV-3521 army excavator.
