Explosions were heard in the capital, Kyiv, and the Red Cross reported that its warehouse was hit in the southern Odesa region. This is the fourth attack on Kyiv in eight days and comes just before Russia’s Victory Day, which commemorates the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two. The Kremlin has baselessly tried to draw parallels between the conflict and its invasion of Ukraine last year. The latest attacks, which lasted over four hours, saw Iranian-made drones swarm across Ukraine. The Ukrainian military said there were missile strikes on the Kherson, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions, with at least eight people injured.Â
