Some demonstrators carried placards displaying the names and images of the victims, cousins Morena Verdi and Brenda Del Castillo, aged 20, and 15-year-old Lara Gutierrez. One sign declared, “It was a narco-feminicide!”
According to reports, the victims were found dismembered and buried in the yard of a house in Florencio Varela on Sept. 24, five days after their disappearance.
One of the victims’ mothers told authorities that the victims were sex workers. Investigators said the women were lured to a supposed party, then tortured and murdered after allegedly stealing drugs.
In footage streamed on a private Instagram account, the gang leader warned: “This is what happens to anyone who steals drugs from me.”
Media reports described victims having fingers severed and nails pulled before being suffocated.
Raids on gang properties uncovered cash and large quantities of prepared food, indicating organized operations.
Since the discovery of the bodies, police have arrested five suspects, including one in Bolivia accused of providing logistical support. Authorities identified the alleged mastermind as a Peruvian national known as “Pequeño J” or “Julito,” who remains at large.
