Israeli defense technology company Smartshooter has secured a major contract from an undisclosed Asia-Pacific nation for hundreds of SMASH 3000 fire control systems, the company announced on Tuesday.
Smartshooter said the system will be used for both counter-small unmanned aircraft systems (C-sUAS) missions and precise engagement of ground targets.
According to reports, the deal follows extensive trials in varied operational settings, where the customer reported high satisfaction with performance.
“We are proud to support our partners in the Asia-Pacific region with the most advanced fire control systems available today,” Michal Mor, Smartshooter’s CEO said.
Mor called the purchase “a testament to the operational value of the SMASH 3000” and said it addresses “today’s dynamic battlefield” by delivering high hit probability against modern threats.
The SMASH 3000 is the company’s lightest handheld-operated model, combining artificial intelligence, computer vision, and tracking algorithms to lock onto and engage aerial or ground targets.
Smartshooter’s systems are already fielded by forces in the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom, and several NATO members.
