Russian drones struck an oil depot owned by Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR in Ukraine’s Odesa region early Monday, regional officials said.
According to Odesa governor Oleh Kiper, a fire broke out at a fuel and energy infrastructure facility and a two-story building in the suburbs of Odesa following the strike. There are no casualties or injuries reported.
“Law enforcement authorities are documenting yet another Russian crime against the civilian population of the Odesa region,” Kiper said.
Ukrainian media reported that the strike damaged 17 fuel tanks, a pumping station building, operator and technical rooms, weighing points, and the surrounding fence, rendering the depot, which has a capacity of over 16,000 cubic meters of fuel, inoperable.

“This once again demonstrates the importance of the new level of cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, as well as the need for appropriate diplomatic and legal responses to such attacks,” he emphasized.
This was the second strike on the same facility in less than two weeks. A drone raid on Aug. 8 injured four people and prompted a criminal investigation.
The drone strike came the same night Russian missiles and drones hit Kharkiv, killing seven, including a toddler and a teenager, and wounding dozens.
