The 39th and 308th Rescue Squadrons jointly conducted RAPIDS infiltration and exfiltration training at the Patrick Space Force Base, Florida on June 6, 2023. The RAPIDS tactic, a quick method for inserting and extracting personnel, was used to improve the proficiency of these special forces units.

1. The RAPIDS tactic, a specialized technique for quickly inserting and extracting personnel, was practiced by the 39th and 308th Rescue Squadrons during their joint training.
2. The 308th Rescue Squadron is a unique entity within the Air Force, offering the only dedicated rescue capability for the Department of Defense, even in adverse conditions. The squadron is composed of combat rescue officers, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape specialists, and Pararescuemen.
3. The 39th Rescue Squadron members are skilled in the operation of the HC-130J Combat King II aircraft. This aircraft is one of the two combat search and rescue aircraft that the wing operates to accomplish the mission of the 920th Rescue Wing.
4. The main mission of the 920th Rescue Wing, led by the 39th Rescue Squadron, is to plan and conduct military rescue operations, with the aim of preventing competitors and adversaries from exploiting isolated personnel.
