The IDF stated that Mazab Khalaf had orchestrated and led numerous attacks against Israel from Lebanon, particularly targeting the northern sector around Mount Dov and other areas along the Israeli-Lebanese border. These actions included rocket and guided missile attacks on Israeli forces. Khalaf reportedly coordinated these efforts with Hamas’s Lebanese branch and Hezbollah, reflecting a collaborative effort against Israeli targets.
The Israeli military explained that the airstrike aimed to disrupt the Islamic Group’s capabilities to organize and execute planned terrorist operations against Israel, especially along the northern border. This strike represents a direct action to neutralize a perceived ongoing threat to Israeli security and civilian areas.
