Hezbollah, a militant group based in Lebanon, has reported that its fighters have foiled two Israeli infiltration attempts into Lebanese territory. The incidents, which occurred late Sunday and early Monday, were met with significant resistance from Hezbollah forces, including the use of missiles, large explosive devices, and artillery shells against Israeli military forces.
The first encounter took place on Sunday at 11:45 PM in the Wadi Qatmoun area, opposite the village of Rmeish, where Hezbollah claims to have engaged an Israeli military force with missiles, achieving direct hits. A subsequent incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday, when Hezbollah fighters detonated a large explosive device against an Israeli force from the Golani Brigade attempting to infiltrate from the direction of “Khirbet Zar’it” opposite the town of Ramya. This was followed by several artillery shells fired at the Israeli force, reportedly causing direct hits.
In retaliation to these infiltration attempts, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent noted that Israeli aircraft intensified their airstrikes on the areas where these incidents occurred. Despite this, Hezbollah’s statements highlighted the vigilance of their fighters and their success in countering the attacks.
Further actions by Hezbollah included bombarding the Zar’it barracks and its vicinity with artillery weapons at 1:30 AM on Monday. Earlier on Sunday, the group carried out six operations against Israeli forces and military sites along the border with occupied Palestine. These operations ranged from hitting surveillance systems with direct fire to engaging Israeli military forces with rocket weapons and artillery shells in both the eastern and western sectors of the border area.
Hezbollah has framed these operations as part of its support for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and their resistance against Israeli occupation. The group’s statements emphasize their readiness to counter Israeli military actions and their commitment to defending Lebanese territory against infiltration attempts.
