Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades released a video showing their fighters ambushing an Israeli military convoy east of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza on April 19.
The footage shows a multi-phase attack. It begins with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) targeting a convoy near the separation fence. Hamas fighters then fire Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPG) and mortars at the Israeli forces.
Following the initial attack, an enemy reinforcement unit rushed to the scene. The Al-Qassam Brigades intercepted the group using three antipersonnel explosive devices, which were deployed with precision.
In the final phase of the ambush, the fighters targeted a newly established enemy position, striking it with four RPG rounds and multiple mortar shells.
One Israeli soldier, G’haleb Sliman Alnasara, was reportedly killed in the attack. He was a Druze service member. His death has been mentioned in online tributes, though there is no official statement from the Israel Defense Forces.
The April 19 ambush comes amid ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza, which resumed on March 18 following a two-month ceasefire with Hamas.
Since the operation resumed, at least 1,600 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 420,000 have been displaced, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry and civil defense agencies.
