Finland’s Special Operations Forces (FINSOFs) comprise two units: the Utti Jaeger Regiment (UTJR) and the Special Operations Detachment (SOD). Originally independent, these units were unified under the Army’s command in 2021, with the SOD now placed under the Army and UTJR responsible for SOF activities. FINSOFs are tasked with various missions, including unconventional warfare, naval warfare, sniping, direct action, and information gathering. They receive rigorous training and collaborate closely with Finnish military and NATO entities. The FINSOFs use modern European-made weapons and vehicles, emphasizing high-speed mobility and precision in their operations.
