On May 3, two persons were reportedly prevented from entering the Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia after they attempted to drive a box truck through the Fuller Road Gate without proper credentials. The incident, which involved a rapid response by military police, led to the activation of vehicle denial barriers to stop the truck from entering further into the base.
Captain Michael Curtis, a spokesperson for the base, reported that the individuals claimed to be subcontractors for Amazon making a delivery to the U.S. Post Office in the Town of Quantico. However, their lack of proper credentials and affiliation with the base prompted military police to direct them to a holding area for further vetting—a directive the driver chose to ignore by attempting to proceed onto the base.
The quick actions of the military police averted potential harm, with no injuries reported during the incident. The two individuals were subsequently detained and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for further investigation. Details about their identities or reasons for attempting to access the base were not disclosed by ICE at the time of reporting.
