A Ukrainian F-16 from the 107th Separate Aviation Wing destroyed a Russian Geran-2 attack drone using the aircraft’s onboard cannon, marking at least the second such engagement captured on video.
Footage shows the Iranian-designed drone exploding mid-air before the F-16 pulls away. A man shouts in Ukrainian, “Well done!” as debris from the drone hits the ground.

Ukraine’s Air Force confirmed the strike, noting the pilot used the jet’s M61 Vulcan cannon to eliminate the target.
“This is a real Ukrainian pilot in an F-16 epicly destroying an enemy Shahed over Ukraine! How many such shoot-downs have there already been… The video comes from social media, the author is unknown, but the pilot is ours!” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a social media post.
The service called the F-16 “a bone in the enemy’s throat,” vowing Russia’s efforts to destroy the jets will fail.
Ukraine’s air force reported on Monday that Russia launched 11 ballistic missiles and 149 drones against Ukrainian cities overnight. Officials said 116 drones were shot down, and an unspecified number of missiles were intercepted, with about 90 of the drones identified as Shahed types.
Ukrainian authorities said the strikes killed at least four people, including a mother and her 10-year-old son in the northeastern Kharkiv region, and left tens of thousands without power.
