China on Sunday publicly showcased its hangars housing J-35 and J-35A stealth fighter jets for the first time, Global Times reported, citing a media outlet affiliated with the Chinese military.
Footage released by China Military Bugle showed unpainted J-35 and J-35A jets under assembly at Shenyang Aircraft Company Limited, a subsidiary of the state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

The J-35 recently completed electromagnetic catapult takeoff and landing trials aboard China’s next-generation aircraft carrier Fujian. According to Army Recognition, the fighter is expected to serve as the carrier’s primary aircraft.
According to the report, the J-35A, the land-based variant of the J-35, features an integrated aerodynamic-stealth design with a single-seat, twin-engine configuration and a blended wing-body structure. Its missions include engaging enemy aircraft, intercepting bombers and cruise missiles, and striking ground and naval targets.
Both aircraft trace their origins to the FC-31 “Gyrfalcon,” a fifth-generation demonstrator developed by AVIC Shenyang and first flown in 2012. That prototype made China the second nation, after the United States, to develop two stealth fighters simultaneously.
