Andrew Drummond, a gear shop owner from New Hampshire, achieved the remarkable feat of summiting Mount Washington 100 times in consecutive days. Despite facing challenging conditions like rugged terrains and intense weather, Drummond remained steadfast in his pursuit, driven by a deep connection to the mountain and the community surrounding it. After completing his challenge, Drummond expressed his fondness for the peak and hinted at revisiting it soon.

Key Points:

  1. Andrew Drummond embarked on a challenge to summit Mount Washington 100 times in as many days, beginning his journey on May 22.
  2. Drummond faced multiple challenges during his climbs, including a neuroma in the first week and an injury requiring 22 stitches after a fall during descent.
  3. Despite the grueling conditions, which included 80 mph gusts and snow in June, Drummond also experienced moments of breathtaking beauty, such as clear views stretching to Vermont and the Atlantic Ocean.
  4. While not a professional athlete, Drummond is a central figure in his community, often hosting and supporting local athletic events through his gear shop, Ski the Whites.
  5. After completing his 100th summit, Drummond contemplated the significance of local challenges and encouraged others to embrace adventures in their own backyards.
