A new video showcases Ukrainian Su-25 aircraft using French-made AASM-250 “Hammer” precision-guided bombs in combat.
The AASM-250, developed by Safran Electronics & Defense, is a 250-kilogram bomb equipped with guidance systems and a solid-propellant booster. The integration allows Su-25 aircraft to perform strikes from safer distances, reducing exposure to enemy defenses while enhancing accuracy.
The Ukrainian Air Force just released the first footage of its Su-25s dropping French-supplied AASM extended-range guided bombs on Russian targets.

In the video, the aircraft is seen flying low to evade detection before ascending to release the bomb. Some of the munitions are a naval variant with a thermal protective coating, adapted for maritime operations.
Ukrainian Su-25s began using French-made AASM Hammer guided bombs in June 2024, as stocks of Soviet-made unguided munitions ran out and Western supplies began to dwindle.
The bombs were first operationally deployed in March 2024 against a Russian command post in Kherson.
