Extremist Israeli settlers burned homes and vehicles, beat residents, and attacked multiple Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank on the night of March 22, wounding at least 10 Palestinians across villages spanning the Jenin, Nablus, Hebron, and Salfit areas.
The violence followed the death of Yehuda Sherman, an 18-year-old Israeli settler from the illegal outpost of Shuva Yisrael Farms, killed Saturday afternoon when a Palestinian vehicle struck the ATV he was riding.
Israeli police said they were investigating whether the collision was deliberate. His funeral was held Sunday at Elon Moreh settlement, drawing senior politicians. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and other settler figures publicly characterized the incident as a terror attack before investigators reached any conclusion.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported three men in Jalud suffered head wounds after confronting settlers.
In Deir al-Hatab, a 45-year-old man was shot in the foot and a woman was treated for smoke inhalation. The Palestinian Authority news agency Wafa documented simultaneous incidents in al-Fandaqumiya, Seilat al-Dahr, Qaryout, Masafer Yatta, and the Jordan Valley, where settlers burned structures, pepper-sprayed residents, and torched at least five vehicles, including a fire engine.
Israeli troops were present on village outskirts but did not stop the attacks, witnesses said.
The IDF confirmed late Sunday that security forces detained five Israeli civilians and confiscated weapons. One soldier and several Palestinian civilians were injured during the response, it said. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir had called settler violence “morally and ethically unacceptable” on March 19, warning it caused “extraordinary strategic damage.”
Democrats party leader Yair Golan condemned the attacks on X. “Jewish terrorism is rampant under the cover of war, receiving backing from extremist ministers, and even dangerous encouragement from the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister,” he wrote.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported 25 Palestinians killed by settlers and soldiers in the West Bank as of March 15.
Four Palestinians were also killed in Israeli strikes on Sunday. An airstrike on a vehicle in the Nuseirat refugee camp killed three police officers and wounded 10, according to Awda Hospital.
A separate strike in Gaza City killed one person, according to Shifa Hospital. More than 670 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since an October ceasefire took effect, Gaza health officials said.
