Washington, D.C., will host its largest military parade in decades on Saturday, June 14, commemorating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary.
The event will coincide with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET and run for three hours, concluding at 9:30 p.m.
According to the America250 website, the procession will take place along Constitution Avenue NW, between 15th and 23rd Streets, with guests invited to watch from the parade route or the Washington Monument Grounds.
The parade will feature nearly 7,000 soldiers. It will also feature heavy military hardware, including M1A1 Abrams tanks, Bradley Fighting Vehicles, Howitzers, and Strykers.
According to Axios, Army officials are also planning to showcase rocket launchers, missiles, and over 100 military aircraft, including F-22 fighter jets at the parade.
The lineup will also include eight CH-47 Chinook helicopters, 16 AH-64 Apache helicopters, and 16 UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.
Trump, who previously pushed for a military parade during his presidency, called the event an “unforgettable” tribute in a June 6 video. He’ll observe from a viewing stand on the Ellipse, near the White House.
The last parade of this scale in D.C. occurred after the Gulf War, according to reports.
