Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has announced the termination of over 100 U.S. intelligence community employees for participating in sexually explicit discussions on a government-operated messaging platform.
The platform, known as Intelink, is maintained by the National Security Agency (NSA) and is intended for professional communication within the intelligence community.
Gabbard told Fox News on Tuesday that aside from termination, she has ordered the revocation of the security clearances of the employees involved over what she called “an egregious violation of trust” and a stark departure from expected professional standards.
“They were brazen in using (a National Security Agency) platform intended for professional use to conduct this kind of really, really horrific behavior,” Gabbard said. “And they were brazen in doing this, because when was the last time anyone was really held accountable?”
According to reports, chat logs from the NSA’s Intelink platform, obtained by the Manhattan Institute, reportedly show employees from multiple intelligence agencies, including the NSA, Defense Intelligence Agency, and U.S. Naval Intelligence, discussing topics like gender-reassignment surgery, hormone therapy, polyamory, and pronoun usage.
In a post on X, Gabbard said: “these disgusting chat groups were immediately shut down when [the president] issued his EO ending the DEI insanity the Biden Admin was obsessed with.”
