Witnesses reported that the attacker, identified as 29-year-old Abdelaziz Kaddi, went on a stabbing spree before being stopped by a civilian who shot him.
Tel Aviv District Commander Haim Sargaroff confirmed that Kaddi acted alone, and no additional suspects are being sought.
Kaddi entered Israel on January 18 with a tourist visa. He held a U.S. green card and appeared to act without accomplices. Israeli authorities are investigating his activities after his arrival in Israel and any possible links to extremist groups.
The attack is part of a wave of stabbing incidents and terror attacks in Israel, which have increased since the October 7 Hamas assault. Last October, six people were injured when an Arab Israeli on a moped carried out a stabbing spree in the city of Hadera.
Tel Aviv Police Commissioner Danny Levy confirmed the attack is being treated as terrorism. Security forces remain on high alert as tensions persist in the region.
