A Ukrainian strike reportedly hit a Russian ammunition depot in Khartsyzk, a town in Russian-occupied Donetsk Oblast, on Wednesday, triggering a series of explosions and a fire.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, shared a video of the strike on Telegram and identified the target as a Russian ammunition depot in the city of Khartsyzk.

Videos circulating on social media show a massive fire at the suspected depot site. SOFX could not immediately verify the footage’s authenticity.

Viktoria Zhukova, the Russian-installed district head, reported damage to apartment buildings, including shattered windows and broken glazing.

Ukraine’s military has not yet commented on the recent incident and the extent of the damage remains unknown.

The strike comes two days after Ukraine reportedly hit a command post of Russia’s 8th Combined Arms Army in occupied Donetsk.

In recent months, Russian forces have concentrated on Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, while increasing activity near the border of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, an area not yet involved in active combat.
