Ukrainian Leaders Commend Alpha Special Group

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyy, and the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Major General Vasyl Maliuk, have expressed their gratitude to the soldiers of the Alpha Special Group.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyy, and the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Major General Vasyl Maliuk, have expressed their gratitude to the soldiers of the Alpha Special Group of the Security Service of Ukraine for their exceptional special operations, many of which remain classified. The leaders applauded the group for their exemplary strength, dedication, and effectiveness in combat missions.

  1. The Alpha Special Group of the Security Service of Ukraine has been praised for successfully carrying out thousands of special combat missions in the war, with their operations ranging from Kyiv to Zmiinyi Island and other combat zones.
  2. Major General Vasyl Maliuk acknowledged the Alpha Group’s influential role not just within Ukraine, but also globally, stating their unique special operations set a high standard for special forces in other countries.
  3. Despite the substantial success of the group, the cost has been high with many lives lost. However, each loss has been recognized as a hero who sacrificed their life for the Motherland.
  4. The group, often working in the most dangerous areas and handling the toughest tasks, has been instrumental in liberating Ukrainian territories and destroying enemy military equipment.
  5. The Alpha Special Group, currently led by Yevhenii Khmara, was established in 1994 and has evolved over time, with its current focus on combating terrorism and protecting law enforcement officers and participants in criminal proceedings.
