Ukraine launched a long-range missile strike on Russia’s Karachev Elektrodetal plant in Bryansk Oblast on Monday, using R-360 Neptune cruise missiles.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, the strike was conducted by the Armed Forces’ Rocket Forces and Artillery units in coordination with other elements of the Defense Forces. It said the Elektrodetal plant was hit with four missiles launched from a distance of 240 kilometers.
Ukrainian Navy Commander Oleksii Neizhpapa confirmed that the strike was carried out using R-360 Neptune missiles.
“In the night our ‘Neptune’ struck accurately at the Russian Karachev plant ‘Elektrodetal’. Minus one more link in the enemy’s logistics chain. Everything that works for war against Ukraine will be destroyed!” the Ukrainian Navy said in a statement.
Explosions and a fire have been reported at the site. Assessment of the damage is now ongoing.

Elektrodetal is part of Rostec’s Radio-Electronic Technologies holding and supplies some 25,000 types of connectors and components for Russian military systems, including cruise and ballistic missiles, aircraft, drones and electronic-warfare equipment. The plant is sanctioned by Ukraine and Western countries.
The strike came as Kyiv carried out a separate attack on a power station in Belgorod, leaving parts of the city without electricity.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces intercepted hundreds of Ukrainian drones and missiles in the past day, while Ukrainian authorities reported a major Russian barrage involving 595 drones and 48 missiles.
The R-360 Neptune, based on the Soviet Kh-35, was adapted for land-attack roles in 2023. Ukraine has also introduced a longer-range version, with claimed strike capability up to 1,000 kilometers.
