Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SSO) carried out a sabotage mission against Russian supply lines in Crimea on August 21, striking a train carrying fuel near the railway hub of Dzhankoi, the Ukrainian military confirmed.
According to the SSO’s official Telegram channel, the operation destroyed Russian fuel and lubricant reserves intended for forces in southern Ukraine. The Ukrainian General Staff said the strike disrupted logistics for Russia’s southern grouping of troops on the occupied peninsula.
Dzhankoi, located in northern Crimea near the border with Kherson Oblast, serves as a critical transport hub for Russian resupply operations.
Ukrainian Telegram channels Supernova+ and Ukraine_Context shared footage allegedly showing the damaged train. The SSO signed off their announcement with their motto: “Always beyond the limit!”

This action follows a series of Ukrainian strikes on Russian supply infrastructure. Earlier, Ukrainian defense forces destroyed a Russian freight train carrying fuel in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region. That attack, which occurred between Urozhayne and Tokmak, reportedly derailed the train and was followed by additional drone strikes.

In another operation, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces released footage of an August 17 strike in Russia’s Kursk region that severely wounded Russian Lieutenant General Esedulla Abachev, deputy commander of the Sever (North) Group of Forces.
Video footage published by the SSO shows what they described as precision fire destroying the general’s vehicle.
According to the SSO Command, a unit identified as UA_REG TEAM targeted Abachev’s vehicle near the town of Rylsk.
