Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) said that its long-range drones destroyed attack drones and foreign-made components at a warehouse in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan.
The strike, carried out on Saturday, hit a logistics hub in the village of Kizil-Yul, about 1,300 kilometers (800 miles) from Ukraine. Footage released by the SBU shows a drone hitting the building, followed by a fire.

Dnipro OSINT, an open-source intelligence group, reported that a Liutyi drone was used in the operation.
The SBU said the strike was part of efforts to degrade Russia’s drone capabilities.
“The Security Service continues its consistent efforts to demilitarize Russian military facilities deep behind enemy lines. Shahed storage sites, which the enemy uses nightly to terrorize Ukraine, are legitimate military targets,” the agency said. “Each successful special operation reduces the enemy’s ability to wage an aggressive war against Ukraine.”
The Aug. 9 operation follows recent Ukrainian strikes on an airfield and military plant in Russia on Aug. 2, and the reported destruction or damage of five fighter jets at a Crimean airfield on Aug. 4.
Russia has not commented on the recent incident.
